Although the map shows the Platte River Trail ending at E-470, the trail continues seamlessly another 3.8 miles north to Veterans Park in Brighton.
Trail is awesome I take this trail to get up to north Glenn from Denver just be aware is very busy at times and alot of geese/duck crap on the path
Great trail for biking however I wish they would leave the surface alone and stop adding concrete!! Be careful when going into tunnels, these may be flooded and contain debris. You could also take a nasty fall, so please slow down. Lots of wildlife and great for bird watching!
Ran into construction along the trail at about Washington and 124th so we had to detour past the Eastlake train station and a little south. This is one of my favorite rides and connect 6 trails to make a 16 mile loop.
I went hiking here for the first time and it was awesome. Got a real good workout climbing the mountain.
This was a fabulous ride! We took the train from Denver to Glenwood Springs, biked to our overnight accommodations then shuttled to Aspen in the morning. VelociRFTA L or BRT allows bikes (eBikes < 60 lbs allowed) after 7a. 2-3 bikes per bus, first come, first served. Shuttle to Aspen $5 w/bike, seniors free. ~90 min to Aspen. Breakfasted in Aspen, then set out on spectacular fall-colored, 42mi ride. If you only have 30mi in you do Aspen>Carbondale, the last 12mi are not particularly memorable.
I started at the Ridgway park and rode the trail to Ridgway State Park. When the trail dead ends into a street, go right and you’ll hook up with the trail again. You can watch me go along this trail on our YouTube channel called Traveling Marlins.
Great hike with a nice easy incline. Fantastic views!!
This trail is really really nice. The concrete is wonderful. There is a small section of blacktop but is in the world to be replaced with concrete. The trail can be a little confusing but once you get the hang of it, it is easy to follow. Beautiful views along the entire trail. Most people follow the simple rules to make it nice for everyone to enjoy.
Excellent bike trail. I rode the entire length north to south and back. Beware, the asphalt sections have some serious ruts in them..and the area around W. 9th has a few sketchy folks and their dogs. A great ride!
Would not recommend this trail any further north of I-70/Quebec bridges if you’re a runner. Numerous people doing drugs on the trail. Left over foils. Watch for needles. Not to mention the excessive amount of trash in this area. Pretty sad and disappointing.
